The 22 paths between the nodes correspond to the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet — and the 22 cards of the Major Arcana.
The Flower of Life appears in the Temple of Osiris at Abydos, the Forbidden City, the Louvre, ancient synagogues in Israel, and Assyrian palace carvings. It predates contact between these civilizations. It encodes the Platonic solids, the golden ratio, and the Fibonacci sequence.
Carl Jung used Tarot imagery extensively in his work on archetypes and the collective unconscious. He believed the cards were a projection system — a mirror for the unconscious mind. The 22 Major Arcana cards trace a journey from unconscious ignorance (The Fool) to integrated wholeness (The World).
Most Freemasons never progress beyond the 3rd degree. The Scottish Rite extends to 33. At the higher degrees, the symbolism shifts to Hermeticism, Kabbalah, and Rosicrucianism. Albert Pike's 'Morals and Dogma' (1871) describes Lucifer as 'the Light-bearer' and the 'son of the morning.' Pike said this was symbolic.
Gematria assigns numerical values to letters. In Hebrew, every word has a numerical equivalent — and the Torah is structured so that key words share values with other key words. The same system appears in Greek, in the dimensions of the Great Pyramid, in the layout of Washington D.C., and on the U.S. dollar bill.
The Earth's axis wobbles on a 26,000-year cycle, causing the zodiacal constellation at the spring equinox to shift over time. We are currently transitioning from the Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius. The Sphinx faces due east — toward the rising sun at the spring equinox. At its construction, that constellation was Leo.
